L'Anse du Portier: Monaco's Ecological and Innovative Jewel
L'Anse du Portier is not only the most avant-garde and innovative real estate project in Monaco, it's also the most ambitious in Europe. This exceptional development will see the creation of a new six-hectare neighborhood, including housing and public spaces, adjacent to Larvotto beach.
The preservation of marine life is at the heart of the sustainable development philosophy of Monaco and H.S.H. Prince Albert II. A real commitment is being made to protect the marine ecosystem of the construction zone. Innovations such as rainwater harvesting systems, electric bicycle stations, solar panels and heat pumps will ensure energy consumption in line with the Principality's goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
This visionary project includes a luxury eco-neighborhood with 150 high-end apartments and villas, an underground parking lot, a coastal promenade, a green park, public facilities and a harbor with around 30 landing areas. Promised to become Monaco's most sought-after district, it will eclipse the Principality's current upscale neighborhoods.
The new district will include a one-hectare public park, various public footbridges along the coast and through the district, linking existing areas of the Principality. It will feature a port with around 30 slips, an underground public parking lot, and buildings combining office and retail space. Luxury accommodation will include multi-tenant buildings and private waterfront villas. The project also includes an extension to the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco's convention center.
The landscape architecture is conceived as a harmonious extension of the existing relief, last uncovered in the 1950s. Every element of L'Anse du Portier has been designed to minimize environmental impact, from site preparation to sustainable energy and utility supply practices.
SAM L'Anse du Portier and Bouygues TP MC are fully committed to implementing innovative techniques and solutions to achieve long-term environmental values. The project complies with the strict standards set out in the treaty signed between the parties and the Principality of Monaco in July 2015.
The project is an architectural and technical challenge that meets the Principality's ambitious energy transition objectives and the growth needs of a dynamic, modern country. It aims to reduce environmental impact through sustainable construction methods and responsible urban energy management.
Internationally renowned architects Valode et Pistre Architectes and Renzo Piano Building Workshop are coordinating the design teams to combine design, aesthetics, energy efficiency and sustainable development. In association with landscape architect Michel Desvigne, they introduce a natural space into this artificial extension.
